Our client, McLaren Property, has developed a 380-unit student accommodation scheme in the Moulsecoomb suburb of Brighton.
The land parcel comprised three separate adjacent sites made up of railway cottages, a recycling centre and a community centre. The existing site topography and proximity to the railway line made this a complex project but the scheme achieved Practical Completion in July 2022 in time for the start of the university term.
The building has been designed to incorporate sustainable credentials and achieved a BREEAM rating of “Excellent”. In addition to student accommodation, the new building incorporates 251sqm of community and 1,236m2 of office space.
David Atherton, Development Director, McLaren Property, said: “Stace continue to provide a high quality of service to each scheme.
Their team surpassed all expectations, working along with other stakeholders, in delivering our first practical completion, post Covid-19, on time and budget.”
