Background

A major regeneration development located close to Tottenham Hale station, providing over 500 new homes.

Hale Wharf has been designated one of the Mayor of London’s Housing Zones, meaning the project makes an important contribution to both the Mayor and the Council’s aspiration for 2,000 new homes in Tottenham Hale. This regeneration scheme is a residential-led, mixed-use development, situated on the River Lee Navigation.

Our client, Waterside Places, is a joint venture between national urban regeneration specialist, Muse Developments, and the Canal & River Trust. The partnership has a brief to provide up to 505 homes, made up of private sale, affordable and Build to Rent (BTR) housing.

The project involved the demolition of existing industrial buildings, along with enabling works to clear contamination, install a services corridor and form the new bellmouth entrance.

The development was delivered in two phases. The first phase of 249 homes completed shortly before the opening of Hale Wharf Bridge – a key piece of infrastructure installed over the River Lee Navigation – in early summer 2021. The second phase of homes completed in August 2024.
