Background

Advancing Plymouth with a new retail destination

Derriford Retail Park offers a new retail and leisure destination to the north of Plymouth.

Comprised the construction of 57,200 sq ft of new space, the development involved the transformation of the Seaton Barracks Parade Ground site into six retail units across two separate buildings for Aldi, M&S Food Hall, Pure Gym, Pets Corner, and a Costa Drive-Through as well as 12 EV charging stations. As well as providing a new amenity for local residents, more than 100 full-time jobs will be created, and a further 57 are being protected.

The buildings are separated by a new north-south public highway link road integrating with the existing road network and facilitating future bus links through the site to the hospital. Whilst ensuring the retail park was well connected, by public transport, on foot or by bike, consideration was also given to increasing biodiversity.

The retail park was created as part of the council’s investment into the regeneration of the area.

We’re delighted that Units 1-3 comprising Aldi, Oggy Oggy, and M&S, have now been handed over for store opening with the remaining Units 4-6 for Costa, Pure Gym and Pets Corner being completed very shortly.
