Background

Cambridge Science Park was founded in 1970 when Trinity College Cambridge led the development of establishing Cambridge as the technology hotspot for the UK and beyond.

Today, Cambridge Science Park comprises 150 acres, 1.7 million sq ft of high technology and laboratory building and is home to over 100 companies.

The Park is currently in its next phase of development, which included the construction and delivery of units 22 and 25 which achieved practical completion in April 2019.

Unit 22 was the design and construction of a 60,000 sq ft new build office. The building includes a reception, Cat A office development, with a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating and EPC rating B together with 181 car parking spaces and 242 bicycle spaces split over a shared podium and undercroft with unit 25.

Unit 22 is spread over three floors and includes a full height reception atrium with glazed roof light. The design included flexibility to convert the office into a bio-incubator.

Unit 25 involved the design and construction of a 41,000 sq ft new build laboratory. The development included a reception area with a ‘BREEAM GOOD’ rating together with 121 car parking spaces and 160 bicycle spaces split over a shared podium and undercroft with unit 22.

Unit 25 is spread over three floors and includes a fully fitted laboratory and kitchen on the ground floor.
