Background

Opened in December 2018, a redeveloped 80,000 sq ft retail park and shared parking facilities at an ‘edge of town centre’ location.

The redevelopment of an old industrial site, the scheme included the relocation of existing tenants, clearing the site of historic industrial buildings and off-site Section 278 highway works to facilitate a new roundabout at the revised entrance to the site.

New steel framed and clad buildings with materials specified by the eventual tenants were constructed and handed over to the retailers for their own fitting out works. The project additionally included works to tidal ponds for outfall headwall connections and provision of SUDS drainage systems.

The development was completed in just over a year and opened in 2018. Following the completion, work is commencing to deliver a 60-bed hotel set to open later in 2019.

Stace provided Employer’s Agent and Cost Consultancy services as well as acting as Party Wall Surveyors for our client, Aquila Maldon ltd.
