The project was to deliver a 500,000ft² new build distribution centre providing ambient, chilled and freezer accommodation with 67 dock levellers and extensive external works.
The Neston centre was the second industrial unit completed for the client. Following the completion of the first, the ambition was to replicate the success. However, there were additional challenges with the Neston distribution centre, involving demolition works and the location of the site having greater costs.
However, through a diligent process of supply chain value engineering the works were procured via construction management for a final account that delivered greater value for the client.
Stace delivered cost management services for Aldi Stores UK Limited.
Our role included procuring all 35 trade contracts reporting to Aldi Stores. The supply chain was sourced from throughout the EU with a client requirement for the building to have a 100-year life. Stace additionally prepared capital allowance assessments to assist the client’s accountants.
