Located in London’s Fitzrovia, 16 Berners Street (previously Orwell House) is set to be extended and redeveloped to offer best in class office space.
The project will involve partially demolishing, rebuilding, and extending the existing building to increase its space from 28,600 sq ft to 35,000 sq ft.
Approximately 70 percent of the existing structure will be retained to reduce embodied carbon, and the development will apply circular economy principles, incorporating reclaimed steel and reusing materials where possible.
Targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’, NABERS 5 star and WELL Gold, the project significantly improves the property while prioritising sustainability.
Berners Street will contribute to Westminster’s 2040 carbon-neutral target and is due to be completed in 2026.
