Initially appointed by The Portman Estate, Stace was involved from brief preparation to securing planning consent. Appointed as Project Managers and Employer’s Representative, Stace led the project to completion, following British Land and The Portman Estate agreeing a development agreement.
The new building comprises 60,000 ft2 of high quality office accommodation together with 15,000ft2 of retail space. Adjacent to the new office building, 62 – 64 Seymour Street was developed into ten luxury residential apartments with a 5,000 ft2 restaurant unit at ground level built behind the retained period Victorian facade.
The building targeted BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and Eco Homes ‘Very Good’ rating and has been set as a benchmark scheme, demonstrating exemplar development for other schemes on The Estate, with high quality sustainable design and low energy use.
During the development, Stace were shortlisted three years in a row by British Land for their ‘Supplier of the Year Award for Offices and Residential’ and eventually won it in 2013, recognising the exceptional service provided on Marble Arch House.
