Topping out ceremony at Northern Gateway, Colchester

Our client, Turnstone Estates, celebrated the topping out of the Northern Gateway Travelodge on Wednesday 16 November. The main contractor, HG Construction, built the highest point of the hotel which sits within the 10-acre site adjacent to Colchester United Football Club.

The Topping Out ceremony marks an important milestone in Colchester Borough Council’s vision to create a place where local people and visitors alike can work and relax. The 200,000 sq ft leisure development within a newly created hub will also include a 12-screen Cineworld, seven restaurants, two drive-thru restaurants, a bowling alley an indoor golf centre and an activity centre.

Representatives gathered from the main contractor, HG Construction, Turnstone Estates, Colchester Amphora Trading, Colchester Borough Council, Canada Life and Stace.
