Over 50 businesses from across Cambridge were in attendance. Held at the Abbey Stadium, guest speakers were Stace Partner, James Darbyshire and Cambridge United’s CEO, Ian Mather.
Partner, James Darbyshire opened the evening keynotes discussing the strength of the Cambridge community and highlighting the opportunity for the city and the region.
‘Figures from Cambridge Ahead in 2018, showed that Cambridge received the 3rd highest digital tech investment in the UK at £153 million. In addition, 1 million homes are set to be delivered by 2050 as part of the Cambridge-Milton-Oxford Arc and the average employment growth of 0.6% in this area is expected to outpace the UK average … This clearly demonstrates the expanding community and exciting opportunities in and around Cambridge.’
Ian Mather, CEO at Cambridge United who took up the role in July 2019 covered the plans for Cambridge United including the ambitions for a new stadium. Additionally, Ian spoke on the differences between running a law firm in his previous role with Mills & Reeve and a professional sporting organisation.
The evening was a great success, with new businesses from across the city continuing to join. The next Stace 100 Club event is planned for early 2020.
