Groundbreaking ceremony at Peterhouse Technology Park

Our project for British Land at Peterhouse Technology Park in Cambridge reached an exciting milestone this October with works starting on site at The Optic building. To celebrate, members from the client and consultant teams gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony.

Once complete, The Optic will deliver three floors of flexible workspace and state-of-the-art laboratories. The area is a hive of innovation and the new development will cater to dynamic occupiers looking for space amongst other high-tech businesses.

British Land required a start on site within 12 months from completing their purchase, so maintaining a tight programme has been key. Prior to achieving this milestone we advised on obtaining planning permission, dealing with utility easements and connections and the appointment of the contractor.

The project is due for completion in 2025 and forms part of our client’s vision to both invest in innovation sectors and to increase their portfolio across the UK.
