On Sunday, 9 March, a team from Stace participated in the Tom’s Trust’s Cambridge Half Marathon.
The team, consisting of Jessa Lee, Julian Cox, Martin Ford, and Matthew Gill, joined thousands of runners to take part in the 13.1 mile route through the historic city where Tom’s Trust was founded.
Team captain, Matthew Gill, said: “With over 13,000 runners, the atmosphere was incredible. More importantly, we ran to support such an amazing cause! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us! Also, well done to my amazing teammates for keeping the energy high and the running socks even higher!”
The charity holds personal significance for Project Director Julian Cox: “I have a strong connection with what Tom’s Trust does, which I wasn’t aware of until now. My 7-year-old sister died from a brain tumour in 1977. The work that Tom’s Trust does in supporting children and their families who are suffering from brain tumours is vital. I’m committed to doing what I can to help raise support and awareness for the charity.”
The team raised over £1,800 for the charity’s Mile for a Child campaign, supporting essential mental health services for children diagnosed with brain and central nervous system tumours.
