This was the first development from the Manchester United Class of ’92 (Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes); a 10 storey, 138 bedroom hotel, incorporating leisure, retail and assembly uses with associated servicing and landscaping.
In addition to the original plans, Old Trafford Supporters Club Limited proposed several features that would help establish the hotel as their official home-base, including the construction and development of a mezzanine lounge, first floor conference space, and a 1,180 ft² ground floor retail provision.
One of the most notable feature of the hotel is “Heaven” – a roof terrace with retractable roof that includes a five-a-side football pitch available for guests to play football matches on. The space is capable of holding up to 180 guests, and regularly features events such as weddings, barbeques and sit down dinners – and has even hosted rock concerts.
