Stace has been appointed to provide Cost Management and Employer’s Agent services on a new scheme by the London South East Colleges (LSEC) to redevelop its Greenwich campus.
The project will see the existing buildings demolished and a state-of-the-art educational facility constructed featuring classrooms, wellbeing spaces, a student welfare space, a Mac studio, training kitchen, and learning resource centre.
The scheme is anticipated to transform skills provision in Greenwich by creating an innovative and inspiring environment for teaching and learning.
The project will target, a BREAAM Outstanding rating and will include rooftop air source heat pumps combined with a highly effective ambient loop heating and cooling system. On the roof, a collection of photovoltaic panels will be joined with a solar green roofing system.
James Darbyshire, Stace Partner, said: “We are proud to be partnering with London South East Colleges on such a beneficial scheme that has specially been designated to support the learning needs of the community. We are excited to see the progression of the project and the value it will bring to not just local students but future generations to come.”
Supported by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the Greater London Authority and the Department for Education (DfE), 294 high-quality new homes will also be built on the site with 50% established as affordable housing.
Dr Sam Parrett CBE, Group Principal and CEO of London South East Colleges stated: “In 2016, we made a commitment to deliver a new college in Greenwich and I am delighted to have reached this important milestone today.
This is a highly effective local partnership, working together to meet the diverse needs of the community. It will provide future generations with the skills and opportunities they need to secure great careers, meeting the evolving needs of employers across the region.
As an Anchor Institution within our community, we are committed to generating social value and transforming lives through the power of learning – and this project is a great reflection of this.”
Works on site started in April 2024, with the scheme expected to reach practical completion in September 2025. The campus will remain open and operational throughout the redevelopment.
