Our client, Apprise Property Limited, purchased this unusual site which was the home of two antique ‘Emporiums’, located in dilapidated warehouse units. The client secured a successful planning consent to demolish the existing antiquated buildings and redevelop the site with a sizeable commercial/retail unit, three townhouses and 11 apartments.
Stace joined the project from RIBA Stage 2, assisting with the selection of a full design team and managing the project to compile a comprehensive design & build tender. The main contractor selected for the project was a growing business and there were risks associated with using them. Together with the client, we managed this risk by actively encouraging the team to work collaboratively, being open and honest about construction issues and seeking to assist the contractor wherever and whenever possible.
The project was successfully completed in September 2020 despite disruptions caused by Covid-19.
