Developer, Tellon Capital, has launched a consultation regarding its revised Bargate Quarter, setting out a new vision for the scheme.
Set on a unique 900-year old heritage site, the vision for Bargate Quarter is to reconnect the city of Southampton and create a place where people can truly explore, enjoy, live and learn.
Responding to the impact of Covid-19, Tellon Capital have revised their plans for the scheme which includes the now-demolished Bargate Shopping Centre. The proposals included new homes along with a significant amount of retail space and a new hotel. Tellon has amended the proposals with the following changes:
In addition, the scheme will showcase the latest high-quality urban design, deliver significant public realm improvements, increase secure cycle storage and enhance access to the historic City Walls.
Tellon is hosting a virtual consultation on its proposals and is keen for feedback from residents and stakeholders. The consultation will run on www.bargatequarter.co.uk until 2 November, after which, Tellon intends to submit a full planning application.
