New Fight for Peace facilities officially open

The Fight for Peace London Academy officially opened its new facilities, with the Hub as its centrepiece, in December.

Fight for Peace is an international not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to realise the potential of young people living in communities affected by crime and violence. To achieve its mission, they offer boxing and martial arts teaching, education programmes, careers guidance, and leadership and mentoring programmes.

The latest works to the London Academy, located in North Woolwich, involved the construction of several new elements to support the organisation’s work. Combat sports facilities were refurbished and expanded with the addition of a purpose-built weights room, a martial arts dojo and a shower and changing room block. New classrooms and a training room were constructed and, most recently, a new centrepiece and entrance for the Academy – the Hub – was added.

The Hub provides access and links between the other Academy buildings as well as providing a new main entrance and focal point to the building. Its construction has created an essential space to welcome Fight for Peace members and provide specialist support to them.

Stace is incredibly proud to have collaborated with Fight for Peace and deliver multidisciplinary services on the new hub building which now links earlier construction phases together providing Fight for Peace with a high-quality building to enable their team to continue their tremendous work.
